With cancellation of the in-person 2020 AAMC Learn Serve Lead Meeting in Washington, DC, DOCS is now planning for a series of remote programs which will allow us to continue to network and learn from one another. Be sure to check back frequently for updates to the schedule of events.

This program will launch in June with three interactive Showcases addressing how members are adapting their curricula in the COVID-19 era:

  • June 8, 2020 from 1100-1200 EDT. Teaching Physical Exam Skills Virtually in the Post-COVID World. Hosted by Toshi Uchida and Felise Milan.

  • June 26, 2020 from 1200-1300 EDT. Creating Virtual OSCES (Training SPs and Students, Grading, and Support). Hosted by Katharine Yamulla and Jennifer Stojan.

  • July 10, 2020 from 1200-1300 EDT. Developing Telemedicine Curricula for Students (Interviewing and Examining Patients). Hosted by Susannah Cornes and Laurie Caines.

Throughout the summer and fall DOCS will also be hosting its traditional Workshop and Poster sessions in the virtual space. We’ll be calling on members to lead these sessions and submit abstracts.

Finally, please also save the dates for the culmination of our DOCS Annual Meeting on Friday, November 13th 1100-1400 EST; our meeting theme for DOCS 10th Anniversary is 10 Years of DOCS: A Brief Look Back…A Visionary Look Ahead. Founding DOCS President, Matthew Mintz, MD, will kick off the celebration with a look at DOCS over the past ten years along with a look ahead. We are also planning a great Keynote Plenary address along with the annual business, committee, and interest group meetings. As always, we will host a virtual Networking Happy Hour on Thursday November 12th!
